County Councillor officially opens lab-enabled facility at Oxford Technology Park

A new landmark, three-storey lab-enabled facility in Oxfordshire has been unveiled by Cllr Nigel Simpson.

This prestigious building, now known as Building One at Oxford Technology Park offers 34,125 sq.ft. of Grade A flexible space, available to let in suites from 4,140 sq.ft for office, laboratory and R&D use, with bespoke office and laboratory fit-out packages available to suit the needs of spin-outs, start-ups and to those companies who require grow-on space.

During the visit, Cllr Nigel Simpson had a tour of Building One to explore the high-tech facilities, including automatic movement and daylight sensitive lighting, and electric vehicle charging points along with raised access floors, suspended ceilings, mixed mode mechanical ventilation with heat recovery and an energy monitoring system.

Building One, situated on the entrance into Oxford Technology Park, fronting Langford Lane and the Oxford London airport is conveniently located at the commercial centre of innovative activity with the high-tech/life-science hubs of Oxford all in close proximity.

Angus Bates, Developer of Oxford Technology Park, said:

“We have already signed a number of pre-lets and received strong interest from regional operators across the life science sector. We are working with these companies to design bespoke fit-outs to meet their exact needs and looking forward to welcoming them to the park in the coming months. To secure space, we are encouraging interested businesses to get in touch now.”

Cllr Nigel Simpson said:

“It is fantastic to see Oxford Technology Park start to come to fruition with the opening of Building One, and attracting the science and technology occupiers that the Building was always intended for.”

Oxford Technology Park is a major new science and technology park providing the next generation of office, Research & Development, laboratory and production space at the heart of Oxfordshire’s Knowledge Economy spine. It is destined to form an integral part of the city’s science and technology-based expansion, with 200,000 sq ft of space coming available over the next 12-months.
