To mark the official opening of Nexus Café and Event Space at Oxford Technology Park (OTP), over 200 guests, including occupiers, local businesses, residents and project partners, attended a celebratory launch event with a complimentary lunch and guided tours of the brand-new facilities.
Developed in partnership with hospitality specialists Gather & Gather, Nexus Cafe and Event space on the ground floor offers a welcoming space with 239 indoor and outdoor seats, serving freshly prepared meals and beverages made from the finest seasonal ingredients.
On the first floor, the Event Space provides a contemporary, flexible setting for co-working, meetings, presentations, events, and community gatherings. Accommodating up to 60 people, it features configurable layouts, including theatre, boardroom, classroom, and cabaret, alongside full AV capabilities, flexible seating, and practical amenities such as photocopying, printing, and catering packages. Everything teams need to work, connect, and collaborate is available in one convenient location.
Together, the café and event space form the social and professional heart of the Park, offering high-quality shared environments that enhance the workplace experience, support well-being, and foster community.
Ian Harris, Director of Asset Management at Ironstone Asset Management, the Investment Adviser to Life Science REIT, owner of OTP, commented:
“Getting the design and delivery of Nexus right was critical to the ongoing success of OTP, as it sits at the centre of our amenity provision. From the outset, we had a clear vision that the space needed to be contemporary, high quality and multi-functional, supporting a broad range of uses for the companies based here.
The addition of the event space builds on that vision, giving our occupiers a professional, flexible venue within the Park where they can host clients, bring teams together and strengthen partnerships. We are delighted with the end result and the positive feedback we continue to receive.”
Erin Parnell, Operations Manager at Gather & Gather, added:
“At Gather + Gather, we believe in ‘the home of true hospitality.’ For Nexus, that meant creating a space designed to fuel, connect, and bring joy to the working day—from that essential morning coffee to a lunch that keeps you focused. We don’t believe ‘good enough’ is ever enough; we pour heart and precision into every detail to make people feel truly seen and heard.”
CDS Wilman undertook the fit-out of Nexus. Speaking about the project, Project Lead Pete Callaghan said:
“It has been a great privilege to have been asked to design and build the Nexus scheme at OTP. To be heavily involved alongside Gather + Gather in delivering the concept of a hub for the park where tenants and the wider public could meet, socialise and work has been a real pleasure.
As ever with a project like this, communication is key and the landlord team have been tremendous in this aspect which has allowed all involved to achieve this vibrant, modern, and forward-thinking facility for existing and future tenants of the Park.“
The Nexus Café & Event Space is now open Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 3:30 pm, serving everything from hot meals and freshly made sandwiches to lighter salads and barista-style coffee.
